The property was fantastic. The maintenance, food and the surrounding area was clean. The view was breathtaking. It was luxurious. Every service was provided on time. I'm looking forward to go on another vacation there. Definitely the best luxury space to spend a vacation.

The heritage hotel exceeded all our expectations. Its serene atmosphere is pure bliss, ideal for tranquility seekers. Our experience was outstanding. Mr. Muthukumaran, the ***ager, and the staff were exceptionally courteous and always ready to assist.

Hotel looks fabulous - but staff were disorganised - pushy with spa appointments, very limited alcohol selection - no white wine! The staff were also keen on us pre-ordering our evening meal - which was a disjointed badly organised affair. No one ate at the same time with a long wait for some. Check out the next morning took forever - only one key card per room. 100% pure veg so no meat or eggs etc.

We booked this as it had the Relais and Chateaux logo on its site. Having stayed there I could not believe it was part of the chain. I contacted R&C who confirmed it is not one of their hotels. The whole hotel, especially the rooms need renovating and a good clean. The small shower room had no amenities, the loo needed some bleach and the towels and mat were threadbare. Breakfast was ok but there was no decaf. Lunch and dinner had two separate long menus which were very confusing. The food all tastes the same, it is all vegetarian and there is no egg. We are vegetarians in India and usually enjoy the food. Worst of all they only sell one bottle of red wine at 6000 rupees a bottle or 1200 a glass. We had paid 2200 at the last hotel for a bottle. Be careful as they aren't forthcoming on the price and there is no wine on the menu. One of the worst hotels I have ever stayed in.

In a partly heritage building (former British post office), rooms are large, veg food is good (no meat), WiFi is strong, and there's a lovely pool and decent spa. Quiet. Friendly service. Power outlets are sp****, however, and you'll need an adapter. If you're here for the temples, this is a good place to be, as temples are 5 minutes away.

Our tour arrived at 16:00 hrs (check-in is 15:00) and they weren’t ready. Very focussed on the welcome ceremony, but when we got to our room, it wasn’t ready. Eventually it was, but was still dirty and unprepared, no towels, dirty plates from previous occupants. Had to ask twice for towels and were grudgingly given 2, so had to request more. Suddenly received a fruit plate: 2 bananas, I apple, bot had seen better days. I didn’t think that the bedlinen was very clean and the pillows smelt weird. Bathroom was cramped and not very clean. Shower controls were incomprehensible. Terrible slow WiFi that kept dropping. Dinner was a disaster, for some reason, we were put into a ‘banquet room’ – as sterile and unpleasant a place as one could imagine. Dinner was supposed to begin at 19:00 hrs, but by 19:45 not all the dishes had been delivered. What was there was tasteless and overcooked (though the blackberry dessert wasn’t awful). Breakfast was equally bad (I know it’s a vegetarian hotel, but no eggs. Really?) We tried to drink in the roof bar, but only one of the outside lights was working, so it was pretty-much pitch black. The inside part was soulless and they didn’t have most of the drinks on the menu. You couldn’t pay me to stay here again. 5 stars? Only in a galaxy far, far away.

This was the second hotel for me and my wife on our tour of southern India. Arrival was encouraging with lovely hotel entrance and greeted by plenty of smartly clad staff. Hotel itself looks lovely all reception areas at the front very spacious and high end. Millennium rooms were a bit tired and in need of a refurb. Only one pillow each and not the most spacious. Small bathroom again a big tired. Food on our first night was ok but nothing special. Dining room very large with only a few diners dotted about. They ran out of beer but then said they would get some locally for me. None arrived despite 4 requests and assurances it would be here soon. Get there early for breakfast as items like jam, etc run out although some items they did top them up on request. Buffet style nothing else available on request. Second night we ate at another hotel in town much better. Day we left we called the front desk for someone to pick up our bags to take down to reception - no answer had to do it ourselves Seemed to be plenty of staff but they hang around in groups not sure what to do. I thought they were young and enthusiastic amateurs looked to me like the ***agement was weak and had to get a grip with the staff and get them organised. So a very average hotel nothing more. Very surprised it was relais and chateaux they can’t have inspected it for some time.

Vegetarian hotel but food excellent. Staff friendly and helpful, especially in the restaurant. Beauty Spa efficient, no lingering after treatment. There is a Sound Spa which is unique especially the sound table. Yoga on lawn in the morning. There are events put on by hotel but not well advertised to guests. Not far from main attractions of the town.
